Maccabi Tel Aviv coach David Blatt, who led the Russian National team in the Olympics, doesn't appear to be headed to the Timberwolves coaching staff.
Allon Sinai of the The Jerusalem Post said Blatt will be headed to the NBA, however. A press conference is scheduled for Thursday.
David Pick of Eurobasket.com said the Wolves are not a candidate for Blatt's services.
On Wednesday night, Israeli sports site Sport5 reported that Blatt would not come to the NBA for an assistant spot, but Pick said Blatt told him Thursday that he was misquoted.
Speculation includes an assistant job on Steve Kerr's staff in Golden State and the Cleveland Cavaliers vacant head coaching gig. Pick said he wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a consultant.
We'll see. But again, it doesn't look like the Wolves are it.
UPDATE: Yahoo's Adrain Wojnarowski, however, says that "Minnesota is still in the running, but sources say he's mostly focused on Golden State and Cleveland."
